So what frontier are we talking about?
From an old story that goes back to before 7th November 1659, date of the famous Treaty of the Pyrenees... To the north-west of the present day department of the Pyrénées-Orientales used to be France; to the south-east was the Kingdom of Spain. This fateful line cut a triangle Montner/La-Tour-de-France/Estagel. Moreover, some boundary markers still exist under thickets or hidden behind walls…
